College Is a time when students become Independent young adults. For most of them, it is their first time being alone and away from their families. It may seem scary, but this freedom makes them grow up into adults. Although college is only four years, it can also be a very stressful time. There is more responsibility. There are many things that can stress college students. This I heavier workload, social stress, and the stress that comes with competition and planning for the future. Those are Just few ways that people become stressed out.
Even though college Is stressful, here are still ways to become successful and manage a low stress experience. In college there is a lot of work. Many students become overwhelmed by the pressure of having to do all of their homework without the help of their mom, dad and teachers, especially students who go to school in another state. Many out of state students don’t know anybody in that state and only have the help of their friends that they make In college. It is normal for them to be busy to be like this and should not make them worry.
In college, there Is nobody to make sure a student does home work, so In order to be successful in college student must plan ahead and make a school schedule. It will help to make sure that they have time for work and keep on track without the help of parents or teachers. This is Just one example of a way to be organized and make time for a lot of homework in not a lot of time. Also in college, there is stress caused by friends, peers and relationships. People say that college Is supposed to be the best time of your life, but It can be hard to have fun and still do well In school.
Sometimes students force themselves to go out with friends though hey have too much homework and can’t filings it. Rather than study, they go out even if they don’t want to. They don’t want to miss out on fun. I know everyone wants time to play, but school is important too. Having fun is important because it gives students a break from their hard work so that they have time to rest their minds. This is important for first year students who always want to make sure that they are a part of school community. Still, school work Is Important. We need to find a balance between the two parts of school.
Many of my friends struggle with this, but I think in order not e stressed everybody should be able to get work done break during the weekends. It is like planning ahead. When you make time you can also have some time to play sometimes. Lastly, college comes with a lot of competition and stress because people are so worried about starting to plan their lives; they worry about further about education, graduate schools and programs Like nursing or pharmacy. I know what this feels like, too. I have hopes of becoming a nurse one day and sometimes there Is added pressure to do well in order to get into programs.
I personally know how nominative the nursing program is and it becomes very easy to overwork myself. This stress can be reduced by not worrying about what the future holds because the only way to get in these programs is to make sure that you are focused and not distracted by stress. In conclusion, college can be a very stressful time. Workload, social stress, and competition are all stresses. While students can be affected by stress, there are shouldn’t be the best time of your life. It is very possible to be academically and socially successful, If you take control of the stress factors.
